Kids Jello Cups

In efforts to save money on my kids' lunches;
I'm making and stocking up again on the Jello Cups.

I mix the jello according to the package and then
 put the mixture into these 3 1/4 oz. Portion Cups
[I get the portion cups at a local store called Cash and Carry but Costco sells the 2 oz. size].
Out of 1 package I can get 8 cups worth.
Store bought= $2.00 + tax (for 8/Walmart pricing)
Homemade=    $0.68 + tax (for 8/ Walmart pricing)

It will add up too quick so this is a great savings.
Plus you have the option to mix flavors if you're feeling wild and crazy!
I LOVE saving money!!!

Guess the Gift

Our daughter is away for a little bit and I just wanted to send her some Love from home.
I used her name as inspiration.
There is a gift that equals each letter of her name.
A= "apple" cider and "abuelita" hot chocolate.
[John 7:37]

 U= "U" get to decode a message. Go here to print the key.
[Bible Dictionary: Urim and Thummim]

D= "dough"
[! Nephi 17: 12]

R= "read" letters from each member of family and a book.
[John 15:11]

A= "almond" caramels
[Psalms 119:103]

I added scrapbook paper to the inside of the box to make it fun.
I wrapped each one with white paper, put a letter to represent her name and a scripture. She has to look up the scripture, guess what it is then she can open it. I got that idea here.

Hot Lunch Chart

Our girls love to have hot lunch(especially the middle schoolers-its much "cooler")but it gets a little spendy. We have agreed they can choose one day out of the week to have hot lunch, so to keep me prepared I made this chart.
I used a leftover piece of plexi-glass.

Brush on some Mod Podge.
Lay your desired fabric and glue a magnet on the back.
Attach the vinyl. Now just use a dry erase marker to change it from week to week.

ToothBrush Organizer

I found this ToothBrush Organizer idea here & it is GENIUS!
I found this utensil drawer organizer at the second hand store(Goodwill) for only $0.69. Then I added the kids' names in vinyl.

It fits perfectly in the drawer and now they have no excuse to Brush their teeth!

POOL Towel Station

I finally figured out a simple solution to the POOL Towel problem. We have a pool in our neighborhood, so during this summer we have gone almost everyday. We have gone through towels worse than when they take their "during the week" showers. And they usually end up on the floor and stay there until we go to the pool again. Ugh!
I realized this place in our garage where I could hang the wet towels to dry but when we needed them they are ready to go for the next time. Then at the end of the week we can wash them.
I just used a frame I had. Then added some stickers for the title on some "water" scrapbook paper. I adhered some hooks (found at Walmart) under the frame.

Homemade Un-Crustable Sandwiches

I am sooo EXCITED to have found this new kitchen gadget for making sandwiches.
Last week I was getting bread for sandwiches and this Kitchen Tool (at Walmart)was hanging by it. Our kids love sandwiches without the crusts. I always have to cut the crusts off(unless its homemade) the bread- its a pain but I love my kids so I do it. Sometimes we will will buy the "uncrustables" but their not as versatile, healthy and a little on the spendy side.
With this Tool all you have to do is place the tool on the bread. Push down the white first then the red. Automatically you have a uncrusted pillow pocket sandwich-the "insides" have endless possibilities.

 Thank you Wonder for coming up with such a Fabulous idea!!!

Homemade Dry Erase Board

We had to make some menu board changes at our Restaurant. With the Restaurant Menu we like to change things and it was a challenge to always change the vinyl wording. So when I found some wood at Lowe's to use as a dry erase board, I was so excited. For a 4'x8' board(could be labeled as:"white panelboard" or "mark-r-board wainscot"), it's 11.87.
I used this saw to cut them up into the measured pieces I needed.
Because the edges frayed a bit, I used my palm sander to sand the edges smooth. Then wipe the board off with a wet paper towel.

Kids "Daily Duties" Board

Pretty soon we will have to get back into the swing of things with school starting. The paper chore charts we have done in the past have not worked out so I thought I might change and try something new.
I built these boards(13"x13") with plywood and beadboard and attached some 12"x12" magnet boards with E6000 glue.
Adhere the vinyl.
For the "duties" I used the glass pebbles, paper & mini magnets.
