PEEPs

I love PEEPS. It was a tradition to get them every year for Easter.
My friend Megan got this Peep Banner idea from her mom. Megan & I serve together in Activity Days with the 10&11 year olds. This was such a fun activity.

This is the simplified version for the girls' to make. . .

This is mine. . .

How to:

Trace a peep for your pattern (increase 200%). Cut 2 for each peep.

Stitch around the felt fabric with coordinating color. Add eyes and nose with black paint.

Hot glue the felt peeps to the ribbon spaced evenly (I did 55" long so then I could have loops for hanging) and attach tuelle, fabric strips or fuzzy yarn in between the peeps.

You can make it as long as you need it-just add more of peeps, ribbon and tuelle.

Easter Door Decor

My mom gave me some fabric strips the other day leftover from a quilt she was making. They were so cute and had the Easter colors, I had to figure out how to use them. This is what I came up with. . .
"Tute" to make it:

First, I cut 5 picket fence boards(3"x 13 1/3").

I glued other pieces of wood on the back to hold them together.

Cut the strips of fabric to fit the boards.

Glue them to all 5.

Unwind some raffia rope to wrap around a wooden egg.

I used this for under the egg.

Attach a vinyl quote.

PlaceMat Easter Decor

I was going through the Dollar Bins at Target last week.

I found these Easter felt place mats in the $2.50 section. They were so unique, I knew I I wouldn't use them as they are intended but I thought they would make a great Easter Decor item.

I cut a piece of scrap wood and spray painted it green.

I used tacky glue to adhere the felt piece to the wood.

I love the Simplicity of the this Easter Decoration!

EASTER Kitchen Towel

I love Easter for the vibrant colors, yummy goodies & fun crafts/activities that help to celebrate this holiday. But what I love most is the remberance of new life.

I found this kitchen towel at the Dollar Store(DollarTree) and its needs "life" brought to it

To sew on, I added, ribbon to the bottom & cut out fabric eggs for the front.

Hangs great in the kitchen!

{Our} Easter Traditions

I just wanted to share a couple of our Easter Traditions our children LOVE to do and look forward to.

1-Flashlight Egg Hunt: We do this on the night before Easter when it is totally dark. Each child has their own flashlight and they get to find a certain number of shimmery eggs + 1 golden egg. This year I think I'm not going to fill them with so much candy but with things like hair accessories, breath mint bottles, mini toys and some candy. The golden egg is filled with either money or a gift certificate for a free meal or treat(at a restaurant).

2-Easter Bunny Leaves a Trail: Instead of the Easter Bunny leaving just the basket of goodies on Easter morning he leaves a trail of clues and they have to "hunt" for their bag/basket. They each have a specific color of egg that leads from clue to clue. I start in their rooms and go thru the house. They can only look for their eggs. At the end they find a matching colored bag/basket with goodies inside.
{CLUES}
1-I've left a trail of eggs just for you, look only for yours that are a color of _____.

For egg #1, go where your ________ have fun.

1-For egg #2, look for something bright in a smelly shoe.

2-For egg #3, you'll find it hidden in a tree.

3-For egg #4, look behind any upstairs door.

4- For egg #5, you can swim but not dive.

5-For egg #6, go where items get a fix.

6-For egg #7, its sitting with someone who lives in Heaven.

7-For egg #8, go where mom makes food great.

8-For egg #9, look where books are in a row just fine.

9-For egg #10, for your surprise look behind __________. Happy Easter!

{Outside}

{Inside}
3-Scripture Story: After Easter dinner we refresh their memory of why we celebrate Easter. Each egg containing the next part of the story. To make the egg carton look cute, I mod podged some fabric, glued ribbon on and put vinyl that said "the greatest story ever told".

Kids Door Decorations

Since I love to decorate for the Holidays our kids wanted to make more decorations for their rooms.

This is what they have on their door everyday {just beads and wire to form the letter}.

This is what we did for Easter. We found a picture in the Oriental Trading Magazine that was a sticker. I just used a template of an egg and traced it into a wreath on wood (but you could use posterboard) and cut it out. They had fun painting them for today's craft.

Focus Centered Easter

I got this book last year at Seagull and it is Wonderful! It goes thru the last week of Christ's life before He died and resurrected. It has lessons, activities & scripture reading. I am so excited to use it again this year. I'm going to be starting it tomorrow.

I love Easter because its truely all about our Savior and it helps to remind me of all that He did for each one of us. The other stuff is fun but its all "egg-tra"! Pin It

Easter Dinner

What's on your traditional Easter menu? For breakfast we like to make eggs benedict with our colored hard-boiled Easter eggs. For dinner we usually have ham with "holiday potatoes" and all the the other fixins. Yum! This year we are getting together at my sis-in-law's for a more casual dinner of chicken salad on homemade rolls, salads, and dessert of course! Here are 2 recipes for my fave things to have with HAM- "Ham Sauce" and "Holiday Potatoes". Pin It
