{Flower} Purse Pin

I love flowers! They are so beautiful, smell good and it's what my name means. So I'm always thinking of different ways to do something with this wonderful creation. I made this Purse Pin for my mom's purse. Now I just have to make one for me.

1-Cut out 3 circles from each color of fabric. (Dark fabric=3 1/2", med=3", lt=2 3/4") You could do a monochromatic look where they are all the same color just different shades. That would be pretty.

2-On the fabric, trace around the 1/4" washer.

3-Cut slits from outside edge to inside of washer circle. It was easier to cut all the same color at the same time.

4-Trace around this washer(for the middle of the flower) and cut out, even the "donut hole".

5-Mod podge the fabric circle onto the washer.[Remember to sand the washer so fabric will "stick" better]

6-Using an upholstery tack, put it thru the washer then all the layers of fabric. (I turned the fabric over so you couldn't see the pen mark.)

7-Cut a 1/4" wide wooden circle from a 1 1/4" dowel.

8-Hammer the tack into the wood dowel circle. TIP: Best on the concrete.

9-Using the edge of the scissors, ruff up fabric.

10-Hot glue on a pin backing to finish it off! Ready to decorate your purse! Pin It

  1. Thanks for the great tutorial. I have been wanting to do something like this. Oh the possiblities.

  2. I'm so glad you are excited to try this. I'm having fun with all the color combinations. So fun!
