So as I have collected recipes I needed a way to hold "ones to try" & "favorites". I love my system and thought I would share.
My cabinet of beloved Cookbooks. I still try recipes from these and put a "yum-o" by them when I have. Then I transfer the recipe to my binder so it is easy access.
At the office supply store I found these dividers that have a pocket in the front and back. They are great. In the front pocket I put the "ones to try" and on the back pocket I put any tips for that section.
Then in sheet protectors I shrink down the recipe so I can fit 4 recipes on a page. I have labeled them "yum-o"{Rachel Ray's favorite saying} so then I know they are the best! Here is the link for the printable.
I have 4 binders: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner & Dessert.
Breakfast Binder has tabs consisting of: Just Eggs, Muffins, Quick To Go, Pancakes/Waffles, Other.
Lunch Binder has tabs consisting of: Finger Food, Pizzas, Sandwich/Wraps, Other.
Dinner Binder has tabs consisting of: All Pig Dishes, Beef Dishes, Chicken/Turkey Dishes, Fish Dishes, Bread & Pasta, Drinks, Salads, Sauces/Spreads & Dips, Side Dishes, Soups, Dutch Oven, Other, Baking Tips.
Dessert Binder has tabs consisting of: Candy, Cakes & Cupcakes, Cookies, Finger Food, Frozen Dessert, Just Dessert, Pizza & Pies, Other, Baking Tips.
Hope your "Favorites" are just a fingertip away.
Great idea, I can't wait to put it together.

ReplyDeleteGood idea! Wait...Does that mean I have to start cooking more?
ReplyDeleteJody- you are so funny. Good Luck in cooking MORE.
ReplyDeleteThis is genius! I have a recipe box set up somewhat like this but no place for the tips and the "yum-o"'s. I love this! Great job.
ReplyDeleteDo you, by any chance, have a template for your four-to-a-page recipes? It's really cute and I'd love to use it!
ReplyDeleteI have the link posted above for the printable.
