Ladies!! I've missed you! Where have I been, you might wonder?
I've been completely obsessed with couponing! I am SO addicted, and I'm having a blast!! I have always been frugally minded and was raised pinching my pennies. But this is just straight-up FUN!! I am blown away by the amount of money I've been saving lately!! I'm talking about Albertsons, Walgreens and Rite Aid mainly. This last week I did Fred Meyer and Kmart as well. I don't have a lot of extra time though, so I am trying to just stick to the main 3 stores for the biggest deals. Of course I still shop at Winco and Wal-mart for some things.
I have always shopped at Savers and DI. And of course I've been tremendously spoiled by our family-owned store, Other Mothers- (still my most favorite).
I just absolutely refuse to buy anything that is not at least 30-40% OFF. (25% once in a while, but that's pushin' it.) I prefer 50-75% or more. Am I cheap? Not necessarily. I like to think that I'm just creatively thrifty!
I like to watch for clearance sales at Old Navy, Children's Place, Khols, and JCPenny. Those are the best in my opinion. I am like a kid at Disneyland at clearance sales. So I guess you could say that couponing is right up my ally!
Want to see what I've done? Okay! Here's my couponing binder...
Oh, and I'm so excited about this cookbook that I got from Seagull Book here in my town for 70% off. I've been wanting this cookbook for the longest time, but wasn't willing to pay $25 for it. It's the Deceptively Delicious cookbook by Jessica Seinfeld. I'm giddy!!
Stay tuned... tomorrow I will introduce you to my good friend Jenn, an expert couponer who has taught me everything I know! Check back later! XO
Do you have a JC Penney outlet? I have found some great deals, especially furniture! It all looks like fun! Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to learn also, and having fun with it. I find myself on the computer for hours trying to figure out what I am doing. I recently went to Albertsons, and one whole transaction (with about 30 things) ended up coming out that they owed me $2. Then my next transaction, I owed $4, for the same amount of stuff. Crazy!....and fun. I don't know why I haven't done this earlier. Anyway, have fun with all your coupons. Let me know any good tips, or sales you find... :)
ReplyDeleteI found a deal on that same cookbook at Ross. I didn't want to pay full price either. However, one warning. Don't use her brownie recipe... It is disgusting. Just use your regular brownie recipe and add the spinach puree and carrot puree and it will be just fine. My kids loved it. Didn't touch Jessica's.
ReplyDeleteHow do you start this?! I have been trying to get started and I never can figure out how in the world you guys can save SO much money! Are there websites that can show you how to do it or what? I use coupons for the things Iuse, but usually only save a couple dollars! HELP!!!
ReplyDeleteWhere did you find the coupon protector sheets, I have looked around but have not found them Are they just business card holders?
ReplyDeleteThanks

Hi Andrea- The protector sheets are baseball card holders and I had to get them at Office Depot. I heard that Wal-mart will get them in once in a while. Anyway, I use the baseball card holders and also the picture holders that have 4 bigger slots (for the bigger coupons). I bought them at Office Depot too. They are pretty inexpensive. The binder I got at Wal-mart for under $10. It's nice with lots of pockets and zippers. I bought the zipper pouch seperately at Wally World for like a dollar or something. Hope this helps!
